Marco and his wife Pam Farquhar moved to Aurora in 2009, Pam has long standing roots in the community as she grew up here, her father Russ was an orthodontist, and his name is on the mural at Yonge and Wellington. When they moved back to Ontario after spending some time in Victoria BC, they were looking for a community that was modern but had that small town appeal. They choose Aurora to start and raise their family because of its community environment, walking trails and small-town feel. It is important to Marco that he and his family are a part of the fabric that makes this town special.
Trained as a Master Electrician, he is a small business owner that values community and engaging youth to develop our leaders of tomorrow.
When he is not working, Marco can be found coaching youth minor hockey and youth rugby here in Aurora. Marco’s passion for rugby saw him represent Canada at many international rugby events. He has been inducted into the Aurora Barbarians Hall of Fame and this fall, will be inducted into the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame as an athlete for his contributions to the sport. As a lifelong volunteer, Marco continues to mentor youth and help guide them as they build their careers.
Marco has devoted his life to helping others anyway he can and would like to continue on that path by serving the people of Ward 2.
